One Size Doesn't Fit All

One-size-fits-all therapeutic advice, especially through social media can often do more harm than good for two reasons:
Because we’re not all wired the same so we’ll need different strategies.
Because we might not be consciously aware of the driving forces within us.
We each have different emotional templates, attachment patterns, and healing needs. For example, an avoidantly attached man, often emotionally shut down, overly self-reliant, and using a disciplined gym routine to mask emotional pain- might be drawn to Stoic principles. But instead of helping, this will only reinforce his disconnection and resistance to vulnerability with others. What he may actually need is guidance in emotional processing, learning to feel safe co-regulating in close relationships, and trust that he won’t be engulfed or controlled by another person.
On the other hand, an anxiously attached woman might overinvest in personal development, constantly striving, never feeling good enough, and looking outside herself for validation. What she could benefit from is a healthy dose of Stoicism: learning self-discipline, emotional independence, and the value of inner stability.
The takeaway? Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. The key is finding a therapeutic approach and practitioner that will assist you in uncovering your specific patterns, meet your actual needs, and support your unique growth path.
Our unconscious is where our beliefs, thought patterns, confirmation biases, and emotional triggers lie. It can be so difficult to change by ourselves because as humans, we tend to search for, favour, and recall information in a way that confirms or supports our existing beliefs and values- even if they are not true or in our best interest. The further the new evidence is from our current beliefs, the less likely it is to change our minds. This is where the support of someone who can assist us in distinguishing the false and limiting beliefs we have can be life changing. The mirror held up through the therapeutic process can lift the veil that has been keeping us small and turn our potential into reality.
If you’ve been trying to figure it all out on your own but keep running into the same patterns, you don’t have to stay stuck. The breathwork space is where those patterns can finally be seen, understood, and transformed. My role is to support you in uncovering what’s beneath the surface, meet the parts of you that have been longing for change, and guide you toward a life that feels calmer, freer, and more aligned with who you truly are.
If you’re ready to take that step, I’d love to support you. Reach out to book a session and begin your journey.
